Serbische sabel ?

Here is pic. of Serbian model cavalry officer saber.
As you can see the Serbian crest was removed and new crest was graviert- the crest of Kingdom of Serbs Croats and Slovenians.

I think that this is M-1895 model Serb sabel but the blade is strange.

There is no markings on it.

Ich denke das ist ein frühes Modell Offizierssäbel M 1920 aus Königreich SHS.

Hier ist spätere Ausführung mit Initialen von König Petar 2 ( um 1934 ).

This is not early version of M-1920, this is handle of Serbian saber, just look better the crest, it is removed and the new one added. The previous simbol was the small one in upper corner (cross with four letter "C").

Only blade is confusing, and it is sharpened, not dummy like all other M-1920 sabers who was intended for decorative parade only.

Chombe you can see that grove of crest are deeper on your saber.

Here is in original shape.

Hello Manuel,

I exactly know what are You talking about and I wanted to say that this is an early version of M1920 made by adjusting old models because of lack of arms. The proof is an old version of coat of arms of Kingdom SHS with only one star on lower part (on my sabre there are 3 stars - that is the version after 1922.year). Any case the sabre is interesting and I think that it is assembled weapon (adapted basket of serbian officers sabre M1895 and blade and scabbard of austrian infantry sabre).

Thank you Chombe, you are right.

I heard that they used austrian blades (and scabard too), but I did not know that this is that one because all markings were erased.

Yes you are right consider stars before and after 1922.

Thank you very much and best regards !

PS . is it blade from austrian M-1861 infantry sabre ?
